Two Peas In A Pod!

10th June 2017

Back

Amy and Ben started out as two peas in a pod and now they will soon be Mr and Mrs! Amy told us a little bit about how they met and their fantastic journey so far.

“We met in March 2010 – at a mutual friends 21st birthday.  We didn’t really talk much that night but Ben wouldn’t leave my friend alone for my number all night.  Safe to say, Ben failed and didn’t get my number that night but soon got in contact with me and asked me out for a drink a couple of weeks later.  Since our first drinks on a Friday evening – we have become inseparable…two peas in a pod!

Ben proposed to me on our fifth anniversary – having lived together for nearly four years and planning to move to our second home.

I have a weird obsession with Heston Blumenthal – so Ben decided to celebrate five years in style.  Having already been to one of his restaurants in Bray he booked up Dinner in Kensington London.  I had no idea what he had planned – even after everyone saying all week and all day that they felt he was going to ‘pop the question’.  We had a lovely meal, lots of laughs as always and as the dinner came to an end, a plate came out with ‘will you marry me?’ on and Ben got down on one knee in the corner of a busy restaurant overlooking Hyde Park – safe to say I was shocked and quickly told Ben to get back up!  It seems Ben had been planning this for well over six months!

We decided to start planning the wedding almost straight away – with booking to see the Orangery as our first of three venues!

Walking around the grounds of the Orangery – I fell in love with it instantly!  The waterfall is the one part that struck a chord with me as it reminded me of a Park near where I spent summers at my late Nans.  I knew it was the venue for me but others were like ‘look around…’ – we pencilled in a date with the Orangery after viewing it that day and a week later, as no other venue compared, we went ahead with planning a wedding there for July 2017.

Back in May 2015 – it felt like a lifetime until July 2017…but here we are, with only a few weeks to go until the big day and we are so excited! The staff, at the Orangery, have been amazing answering all my queries and questions in the last two years and we have 110% faith in the team and them being the cherry on top of our wedding on July 28th 2017!”

Thank you for choosing the Orangery, we can’t wait to be a part of your special day. The official countdown has begun!
